Several years ago, I felt awful, and I didn’t know why. I had brain fog, joint pain, exhaustion, and crippling anxiety. I saw numerous conventional medicine doctors, and no one could tell me why I felt unwell. And the daunting task of seeking a diagnosis was exhausting me even further. It wasn’t until I sought the help of a functional nutritionist that I finally solved the puzzle. Through her guidance, lab testing, and seeing doctors she connected me with, I finally had some answers: I had celiac disease and hypothyroidism. She guided me every step of the way with nutritional and lifestyle strategies, and it was because of her that I finally started to feel better.
During this time I also began a deep dive into the world of functional medicine through podcasts and books, and the more I learned, the more I knew that I wanted to pursue a career helping others feel their best as well.
I went on to receive my masters in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, and now see clients to help them in their journey to feeling like themselves again. I also used the skills I gained in grad school to partner with my doctors so that I could stop all the medication I was on, and I am proud to say that I feel the best I have ever felt in my entire life, all due to the functional medicine philosophy of getting at the root cause of why I felt unwell, and then targeting that root cause with diet and lifestyle strategies.
Feeling better is possible - I am living proof of that. And that is my greatest hope for you as well.
